As an Uber driver, every day is different and brings new experiences. Today was no exception, as I had a ride with a passenger named Greg and then picked up three ladies who turned out to be Jehovah’s Witnesses.

I had just gotten off the El Cajon 5 freeway and was on my way home when I received the request for an UberX from Greg. The ride was estimated to be about $17, with two stops and a drop-off near the border. I was planning on trying to get another ride by the border before heading home, but I ended up getting a second ride from the same passenger for an additional $6.

The drop-off for the first ride was in Imperial Beach, and we made three stops along the way. After the ride, I picked up three ladies who were definitely a little bit tipsy. They told me they had been drinking whiskey, and they were all going home. One of the ladies started talking to me about the pyramids, and that led to a conversation about God. We got really deep into the conversation, and I learned that they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.

They told me about their beliefs, including the idea that Satan was kicked out of heaven in 1914 and is now running free on Earth for a limited time. Overall, it was a really interesting and enlightening conversation. I learned a lot about Jehovah’s Witnesses, and I was really impressed by how kind and open they were. I definitely want to learn more about their beliefs in the future.
