Earnings Breakdown:

Passenger Paid: $98.03

Uber’s Cut: $25.63

My Total Earnings: $58.01

Reflection:

This ride was a good start to my day, even though the passenger was not in the best mood. The earnings were awsome for my first ride.

Ride Details:

The ride started at Terminal 1, San Diego International Airport and ended in Fallbrook. There wasn’t any strategic planning involved in choosing this ride, it was just the first one that came up. The pickup location was under a lot of construction, so advice if you are flying into SAN please take uber from Terminal 2.

Passenger Description:

There was only one passenger and we didn’t have much conversation. The passenger was in a bad mood and spent most of the ride on his device. There weren’t any challenges but the pax did tell me to take the HOV. I alway worry because fasttrack take $ all the time. Not fair.

Personal Experience:

I maintained my mood and energy level during the ride by listening to a great YouTube video about podcasting and YouTube turning into a podcast. I had to use the bathroom before and after the ride, which was a bit inconvenient. This is a constent issue all drivers deal with and I want to solve it soon.  There were no items left behind by the passenger.

Uber Earnings Exposed 🛑 The Real Deal Behind the 🛞

I delve into the world of Uber earnings. In this video, I’ll be breaking down my earnings from a recent Uber ride, comparing it with and without a tip. We’ll be looking at how much Uber takes, what the passenger pays, and how much I, as a driver, end up with. This is a follow-up to my previous video where I discussed my blog article on the same topic.

Let’s break down the two earnings summaries:

First Summary (With Tip):

Total Customer Price (excluding tips): $98.03

Tip: $14.70Total Customer Paid: $112.73

Your Earnings (including tip): $72.71

Uber Service Fee: $25.63

Second Summary (Without Tip):

Total Customer Price (excluding tips): $98.03

Your Earnings: $58.01

Uber Service Fee: $25.63

Let’s dive deeper into the analysis:

Watch “bts – UBER EARNINGS EXPOSED 🛑the real deal behind the 🛞” on YouTube

1. Uber’s Percentage Cut (Excluding Tips):

As calculated earlier, Uber’s percentage cut from the total customer price (excluding tips) is approximately 40.82%. This is calculated as (Uber’s cut / Total customer price) * 100.

2. Uber’s Percentage Cut (Including Tips):

When we include the tip, Uber’s percentage cut decreases to approximately 35.50%. This is because the tip increases the total amount paid by the customer, but Uber’s cut remains the same.

3. Your Earnings as a Percentage of the Total Customer Price (Excluding Tips):

This is calculated as (Your earnings / Total customer price) * 100. So, (58.01 / 98.03) * 100 = approximately 59.18%. This means you earn around 59.18% of the total customer price (excluding tips).

4. Your Earnings as a Percentage of the Total Customer Paid (Including Tips):

This is calculated as (Your earnings including tip / Total customer paid) * 100. So, (72.71 / 112.73) * 100 = approximately 64.50%. This means you earn around 64.50% of the total amount the customer paid (including tips).

5. Tip as a Percentage of Your Earnings:

This is calculated as (Tip / Your earnings) * 100. So, (14.70 / 58.01) * 100 = approximately 25.34%. This means the tip represents around 25.34% of your earnings before the tip.

6. Tip as a Percentage of the Total Customer Paid:

This is calculated as (Tip / Total customer paid) * 100. So, (14.70 / 112.73) * 100 = approximately 13.04%.

This means the tip represents around 13.04% of the total amount the customer paid.

7. Difference in Your Earnings With and Without Tip:

This is calculated as (Your earnings with tip – Your earnings without tip). So, 72.71 – 58.01 = $14.70.

This is the exact amount of the tip, which shows that the tip directly increases your earnings without affecting Uber’s cut.

These analyses provide a comprehensive understanding of how your earnings, Uber’s cut, and the customer’s total payment interact with each other. It shows the significant impact of tips on increasing your earnings and decreasing Uber’s percentage cut from the total amount the customer pays.
